Speech Language Pathologists

Our team of Speech-Language Pathologists are all graduates of an accredited program in Speech-Language Pathology, and are registered with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO). Our SLPs have experience working with young children with a variety of disabilities, their families and other professionals. We also have SLPs who are certified to run Hanen Programs - It Takes Two to Talk, Target Word, More Than Words, and Talkability. We also provide training for Early Childhood Professionals in Hanen Language and Loving It and ABC and Beyond. Our Individual Authorizer (IA) from the Assisstive Devices Program have access to ADP funding for a range of communication device and AAC equipment through the Centralized Equipment Pool (CEP).

Communication Disorder Assistants

Our CDAs work under the direct supervision by the Speech-Language Pathologist and have experience working with children with physical and developmental disabilities. They carry out the SLP designated programs to individual clients and provide education to caregivers and other professionals.  Our CDAs also have experience with Augmentative and Alternative Communication systems, specialized hardware and software.

Auditory Verbal Therapists

Our Auditory-Verbal Therapist (AVT) works with children who are deaf or hard of hearing. Our main goal is to help develop spoken language by using their residual hearing, typically with the aid of hearing devices like hearing aids or cochlear implants.

Our certified AVT will focus on teaching children to listen and understand speech in real-world environments, using techniques that emphasize auditory learning and verbal communication.  We work closely with the child and their family and other professions (i.e. Audiologists) to create a tailored therapy plan to improve the child's speech and listening skills. The ultimate aim is to help the individual communicate effectively using spoken language.
